Schweppes Bitter Lemon

Schweppes is the oldest name on this shelf. Johann Jacob Schweppe, a German watchmaker and amateur scientist, founded it in Geneva in 1783 after working out how to carbonate water commercially. Bitter Lemon arrived much later, in 1957, and reached Nigeria through the Coca-Cola bottling system.
